The social program will include a Reception at Government House - Tuesday 3 November, Official Welcome Reception - Wednesday November 4th and the 2009 ASSID Conference Dinner - Thursday November 5th.
Government House Reception
Tuesday 3 November – 6.00pm - 7.00pm
This is a very special free event for conference delegates and it will be well worth arriving early in order to have the opportunity to meet Tasmania’s Governor and tour the main areas of Government House. Transport is being provided and will leave the Wrest Point at 5.30pm.
Attendance is open to full registrations only. If you wish to attend the Reception at Government House you must confirm this when you register, as your name will be provided to Government house so they can issue an official invitation. Numbers are limited to this event. You must check in at the conference registration desk prior to departure for the reception in order to pick up your invitation. You will not be permitted to enter Government House without this.
Hobart Restaurant Guide
The above link will provide delegates with information on Hobarts Restaurants, their Cuisine and Accessibility. Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 November are free evenings (after the Receptions conclude) and delegates are encouraged to visit one of Hobart many wonderful restaurants.
Welcome Reception and Poster Session
Wrest Point Convention Centre Foyer
Wednesday 4 November, 5.30pm – 7.30pm
The Welcome Reception will take place in the magnificent foyer of the Wrest Point Convention Centre and includes drinks and canapés. The poster defence session will take place during the reception. The Welcome Reception is included in the cost of a full registration - additional places can be purchased at a cost of $65
Conference Dinner
Derwent River Cruise
Thursday 5 November, 7.00pm – 9.30pm
Dinner will be an evening cruise on the Derwent River, on board the historic vessel Cartela. You will be provided with a welcome drink as you board and dinner will feature fine Tasmanian produce. Drinks can be purchased from the bar throughout the cruise.
The Conference Dinner is an optional event, tickets are available at a cost of $75 and should be purchased when you register.
