Christopher White, RMIT University – Infrastructure Planning

Chris is an architect who has worked in both the private and public sectors of the property industry for over 30 years.

He is the Executive Director, Property Services with RMIT University and is responsible for the effective development and management of the University's $1 billion property portfolio.

For the last 6 years he has been a member of the Victorian Property Council Corporate Real Estate Committee and in 2007 has been appointed a member of the Sustainability Committee.  Since 2003 he has been a Director of TEFMA and has served as Chair of the Information Committee.

Paul Dowling, Wilde and Woollard -

Paul Dowling is a Director of Wilde and Woollard, Construction Cost Consultants. Wilde and Woollard are significant providers of Quantity Surveying, Strategic Planning and Asset Management services throughout the Higher Education and TAFE sectors in Australia and are business partners of TEFMA. Paul will speak about opportunities for our sector to benchmark capital expenditure more effectively and ideas for how better quality of data can be compiled in this area. He will also address his observations from an international perspective, having recently visited UCLA and Cambridge University"

Ben Wheaton, PricewaterhouseCoopers  -

Ben Wheaton is a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers specialising in compliance, systems, and risk management. He is a member of the PwC climate services team, and a Melbourne leader in the PwC Foundation.

In November 2006 Ben was selected from over 2,000 applicants to be one of 75 people personally trained by Al Gore as a "climate messenger".  Following this Ben has given Inconvenient Truth presentations to more than 600 people within PwC, and is now being engaged to present to major corporates.

Chris Wallbank, Jones Lang LaSalle, Director,

Chris Wallbank has 25 years experience in the design, construction, commissioning and maintenance of building services, with the last thirteen years focused on building performance improvements with new and existing property.

With the renewed focus on sustainability outcomes the design and operation knowledge gained in the earlier stages of his career provide a sound base for energy auditing and management. This combination of skills provides Chris and his clients with a sound understanding of what can be done with an asset to improve the Sustainability outcomes. An accredited ABGR practitioner Chris has undertaken a number of large sustainability commissions throughout Australia.

Recent projects include Director-in-charge of the Australian Building Greenhouse Rating (ABGR) of 25 properties for one of Australia’s largest listed property trusts, together with the development of an overall strategy for energy reduction across this large (700,000m2) commercial property portfolio.

Chris also sits on the global Jones Lang LaSalle Environmental Sustainability Board and is involved with numerous other national based initiatives.

Brian Purdey, Managing Director KODO –
Building Performance & Measurement

Brian Purdey is an innovative business strategist and change manager with an international reputation for creativity in addressing complex business problems.
A sought after advisor on how to improve human performance in buildings, he has also written and presented numerous papers on this subject.

Brian is a Life Member and past National Chairman of the Facility Management Association of Australia (FMA), current committee member for the FMA NSW Branch and represents the facility management profession on the Academic Advisory Committee for Building at the University of Technology in Sydney (UTS).  He is also a member of the Built Environment National Industry Action Agenda Sustainability Working Group, member of the Strategic Advisory Board for the Built Environment Research Group (BERG) at Deakin University, and Chairman of fmedge-facility management training, a Registered Training Organisation, specializing in FM training and development.

He is currently undertaking post-graduate research in workplace productivity at the University of Sydney and is joint editor of the publication “Facilities Economics in Australia”.
