Welcome
Welcome to the TEFMA Contract Management course to be held at UNSW, Sydney, March 10 & 11, 2008.
Contract management is an increasing part of the day to day activities in the FM environment in support of the tertiary education sector.
Many end up in this role, without any formal training, and most manage to achieve good results. But contract management is complex, and there is potential for mistakes if we don’t have a good understanding of the issues. A number of the courses on this topic are very legalistic, and people are often daunted by the way the subject is tackled. In seeking an organisation to provide this training for TEFMA members, we deliberately sought a practical hands-on approach to contract management, and believe that fmedge meet this objective.
This course, which is being run for the first time, is part of the education programme provided by TEFMA for its members. The decision to set up this course was made in response to member requests for such a programme, and the response from members has indicated that this was very much a solution to their needs. As well as training in contract management, attendance at the course also provides an opportunity for members to meet others in similar roles, and share experiences.
