Invitation To Attend
On behalf of the Organising Committee, I am delighted to extend an invitation to you to attend TEFMA’s 2009 Workshop - Carbon Footprint Workshop to be held at Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, on 11 & 12 June 2009.
This Workshop has been jointly organised by a team from the University of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland University of Technology, and University of Queensland, and is expected to attract some 130 persons from the tertiary sector across Australasia.
With the Australian Governments ratification of the Kyoto Protocol, and the subsequent release of the Governments “Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme Green Paper, July 2008”, the theme for this workshop, “Carbon Footprint” is very relevant to the tertiary sector. How Universities respond to the increasing legislative requirements for measuring, reporting, and ultimately reducing their carbon footprint, are the topics of discussion at this workshop. The goal of the workshop is to develop benchmarking and reporting guidelines for Tertiary Education Facility Managers in relations climate change strategies.
Presenters at the Workshop will include leading and experienced practitioners from within the sector ensuring that participants will return to their institutions with a good understanding of what needs to be done, and some practical examples to draw upon.
I look forward to seeing you in Noosa

Mark Bradley
Chair
